The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia was created in 1960. It unites six regional chambers, up to a thousand of associations, companies, banks etc. The Chamber is a subject of public law, and is functioning on the base of the special law "On the Chamber of Commerce and Industry". The Chamber is the independent, corporally organized non-governmental organization. The president and vice-presidents of the Chamber are elected by the general meeting of businessmen

The Chamber leads systematic negotiations with its members, elaborates common opinion of business society and submits it to the management of the country, its ministries and organizations.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia is a member of ICC (International Chamber of Commerce), it follows and participates in the economic processes taking place in the country.

Implementing its infra-structural function the Chamber renders active service to business. It confirms the certificates of origin of goods, carries out quantity and quality expertise of goods, determines barcodes, witnesses to force-majeure circumstances, carries out translation of scientific, technical, legal and economic material of any complexity, contributes to the development of professional education in the sphere of entrepreneurship etc.

The arbitration court is functioning at the Chamber, where economic entities may solve economic disputes arising during their activity.
