Schematic Description of Service Provision

 

Types of Certificates of Origin (CO) provided by GCCI are as follows:

  • General (non-preferential) Certificate of Origin
  • Preferential Certificate of Origin – Form CT 1 (CIS)
  • Preferential GSP Certificate of Origin – Form A
  • EUR.1

General (non-preferential) Certificate of Origin is issued when goods are exported to any country. They are issued (verified) mostly by chambers of commerce and industry. The document usually carries the following information:

  • Exporter
  • Consignee
  • Origin of goods
  • Description of goods
  • Quantity
  • Way of transportation
  • Issuing (verifying) body

Preferential Certificate of Origin – Form CT 1 is issued when goods are exported to a member country of CIS. Georgia has bilateral agreements with the CIS countries that include mutual acceptance of these certificates in bilateral trade.

The following information is usually carried by the document:

  • Exporter
  • Consignee
  • Origin of goods
  • Description of goods
  • Quantity
  • Way of transportation
  • Issuing (verifying) body

Preferential GSP Certificate of Origin – Form A is issued when goods are exported to a country with which the exporter has GSP regime. Usually the same information as in previous forms is present in these Cos:

  • Exporter
  • Consignee
  • Origin of goods
  • Description of goods
  • Quantity
  • Way of transportation
  • Issuing (verifying) body

EUR 1 is a so called Movement Certificate which is used in trade between the European Union and the countries that have Free Trade Agreement with the EU countries. GCCI issues EUR1to cover trade transactions with Turkey based on the Agreement between Georgia and the Republic of Turkey on Free Trade dated November 21, 2007. Usually the same information as in previous forms is present in these COs:

  • Exporter
  • Consignee
  • Origin of goods
  • Description of goods
  • Quantity
  • Way of transportation
  • Issuing (verifying) body

 

ATA Carnet

 

ATA Carnet is an internationally-accepted customs document which is governed by Istanbul convention and provides for the temporary duty-free and tax-free admission of three main categories of goods traded internationally:

  • goods for presentation or use at trade fairs, shows, exhibitions or similar events
  • commercial samples
  • professional equipment

ATA Carnet is a global Customs document, a Passport for goods. It avoids extensive customs procedures and eliminates payment of duties and value-added taxes. Replaces the purchase of temporary import bonds normally required at the time of importation. With ATA Carnets, enterprises are allowed to import goods for up to one year. The document usually carries the following information:

  • Holder of an ATA Carnet
  • Representative
  • Intended use of goods
  • Countries of destination
  • Issuing organization
  • Validity of ATA
  • Description of goods

The BarCodes and GS1 Identification System have provided benefits to consumers around the world for over thirty years. The GS1 System provides several types of bar code for use by GS1 members depending on the application. The reasons for this vary but because different bar code types have different strengths and weaknesses, GS1 selects the bar code that best fits the application the best.
